The drawer on this fridge makes it so much better than the others. The only reason I gave it 4 stars for durability was because it would not fit in Camry without removing it from the box and it got a small dent from this process. The price was great!
using mine on my office, this thing freezes anything even on the door when temperature is set above "cold". im impressed. btw to the lady that caught her finger on the soda dispenser by the door, if you put your palm below the last soda and lift it up it will come out smoothly.
I bought this and a Haier 1.7 cu ft (see my review of the Haier) as part of my kitchen remodel (compact, easy to access appliances, in black for ease of cleaning and attractive appearance). I had to take it out of the carton in my car (how did those two great Wal-Mart associates at the store get it in my sub-compact?!) to get it out of the car and into the house. It is a hefty unit and I should have got help. Once in the house and up on the counter, it took only three hours to reach a proper temp! I have a thermometer in it (and the Haier) and it is keeping my food at the correct temps without any need to adjust. We've had a few really hot and humid days so I've been checking the temp but this GE is keeping the temp even. I am really impressed. The can dispenser isn't all that except as storage, the first (and last) time I pulled a can from it the one behind it smashed my finger-I take the soda from the top now. As soda can storage, though, it is great! The sodas are ice cold straight from the fridge, but not frozen. The rest of the door bins are great, I've got salad dressing, butter, ketchup, etc in the bins, and those items are staying cold. The adjustable shelves are great, too! My old, dead, fridge (full sized 18 cu ft) wasn't so flexible. I have the shelves adjusted so that I can store things just the way I've always wanted. Two wire racks and three positions to choose from make it easy for me to put the butter dish, tortillas, ink sausage and small cream cheese containers on one, with taller things like the sour cream, pint of milk, whipped butter tub, jelly jar, tomatoes and lettuce on the top shelf. Sitting on top of the veggie bin (that I'm using for lunch and dinner meats) I can store food like block cheese, eggs, celery and carrots. Really perfect for my needs. I have the fridge on a counter top, everything is at eye level and I can reach right into the veggie bin without having to bend down into the fridge. BTW, the bin is why I decided on this particular compact fridge. I saw several the same size at other stores but those were higher priced and did not have a bin. The freezer compartment is the full width of the fridge and I have two bags of veggies, a small bag of ice, and a small roast in it. Everything is frozen solid. I am really happy with this unit. I am ordering the Danby 3.6 cu ft freezer next month using the site to store feature, and then will use the Haier to supplement the GE 4.3 because although the size of this fridge is plenty for me, I do have company now and then and so will need a bit more fridge space-but not too much. I think the little one will be just right for those times.
I purchased this GE refrigerator as an extra for my basement. Love the size and it arrived within days via FedEx with a minor stratch on the side and abrasion on the top. It serves the purpose for which it was intended. Keeps everything COLD and I don't have it on the coldest setting. Love the drawer at the bottom and the door can hold can sodas and 1/2 gal containers. Ideal size with three shelves and small freezer.
I won't go into great detail since it is, after all, just a mini-fridge. But I will say that it was delivered to my front door days sooner than I'd hoped - free of charge. That's right, shipping was free, which automatically makes it a good deal. The fridge itself is great, it does what it's supposed to and looks good in my bar. No scratches, dings or dents, either.
WE BOUGHT THIS TO KEEP DRINKS CLOSE TO OUR POOL. SO FAR, IT HAS BEEN VERY HANDY. I DO WISH THAT IT HAD A LIGHT, BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS A GOOD PURCHASE.
Similar to other reviews, my unit had to be returned for damgaes to the front door, and a huge dent underneath, which prevented the unit to sit flat on the floor. I have not purchased a new unit yet, will get the same one at a stocking store ( vs ship to store). By comparison, I love the features and the price. BUT the ongoing recommendation is to check for damage AT THE STORE before you bring it home
the only thing that I can say about the whole experience is that the shipment came with the box all tore up and there were several dents on the top and front of the refrigerator. Other than that, it works fine, may be a little loud at times. But it is for my office so it works great in that application.
this is a nice looking product. however, the freezer, is a joke. things only freeze on one side of it. it took me 3 days to freeze water for ice. and then only half of it froze. also, ice cream bars i put in there, completely melted and were tossed. the refrigerator works great. Save your money if you are looking for a great refrigerator/freezer. this product isnt it.
I would not recommend this product. I bought two and both were damaged. The packing was horrible. The foam around it was maybe 1/2 in thick and did not cover the corners. If all of there appliances are packed like this, I would discourage any purchases. I normally purchase from the store so you can see what you get. This was not available in the store!
